Welcome to my website! I am a Florida State Certified School Counselor (PK-12). I have worked with students ranging from Kindergarten through the college level. I graduated from FGCU with both of my degrees - B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling. As a School Counselor, I can provide students with indivudial counseling* and group counseling*, as well as classroom guidance. In addition to being a School Counselor, I am the Equity Coordinator, which means I can assist students with unique needs through the formation of 504 plans. I am also a member of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) team, Gifted Assessment Team (GAT), and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) team.
My comprehensive school counseling program goals are:
- to teach students the personal/social skills they will need to be successful (conflict resolution, self-worth building)
- to aid in academic success (study skills, test taking skills)
- to help 5th graders prepare and plan for middle school
- to provide students in grades K-5 with Child Safety Matters and Learning for Life lessons
Please feel free to contact me; I can be reached via email KatherineMH@leeschools.net
*I am not a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and cannot provide mental health counseling. The services of a School Counselor are focused toward academic achievement and growth and are not a replacement for Mental Health Counseling services.
