Mrs. Bertuzzi's Camp
Our mission at Gulf Elementary is to create a community of learners who are equipped with the knowledge, strength of character, and desire to reflect on the past, achieve in the present, and build for the future.
Please take the time to look at my site every week. I will be posting our spelling words, vocabulary, and concepts being taught that week. On the right side you will find links for students to practice at home. Please make sure your child is reading every night, it is best that they read aloud to someone for help when needed.
If you ever have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to email or call.
As the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) approaches, it is essential that your child not only masters new reading and math skills, but also continues to review and practice the previous skills that have been taught.
AR is important for your child to be working on every night so they are testing several times a week. This will insure your child will meet their goal. The students are also working on earning a 100 points to get a trophy at the end of the school year. By reading AR the students are building their vocab and comprehension skills.
Please remind your child to read every night at home.
Also, It is very important that your child continues to practice multiplication facts at home. Fast Math is an awesome program offered online and every child is able to access it at home. Please utilize this at home in the evenings. Another great program is Compass. Students have access at home as well. Each student has compass paths set up for them focusing on their skill they need remediation in.
Thanks so much for all you do to support us here at school! It means a lot.
